Premiering on the 22nd of September at the Devonport Entertainment and Convention Centre is the show Sex with Strangers, starring Tottie Goldsmith (Grease, Rocky Horror Show) and Samuel Johnson (The Secret Life of Us). Sex with Strangers, a mature themed show, focuses upon two writers: one a published author trying to better her writing through a new novel and the other, a blog writer looking to legitimize his writing. When the pair meets in the midst of a snowstorm their chemistry sparks and leads the audience on a dark rollercoaster ride.
First staged in Chicago at the Steppenwolf Theatre in 2011, Sex with Strangers has received positive reviews for its writing and atmosphere. It offers unique observations about first impressions and relationships in the modern age while addressing gender and generational differences. Mostly, it addresses the realistic and unrealistic issues of intimacy through the eyes of two powerful and complex characters.
